Segmented Filtering of Laser Scanner Dsms

چکیده
The filtering of a digital situation model (DSM) containing points located on vegetation and buildings to a digital height model (DHM) is depending upon the structure of the objects not belonging to the bare ground. The limitation of an automatic global filtering of a DSM as a compromise between the different object classes is shown. Based on an automatic segmentation for each different class the required filter thresholds could be determined automatically for reaching an optimal filter result.

Filtering of Airborne Laser Scanner Data Based on Segmented Point Clouds
The extraction of points on the bare Earth from point clouds acquired by airborne laser scanning is the most time consuming and expensive part in the production of digital elevation models with laser scanning. Current algorithms for filtering point clouds assume the Earth’s surface to be continuous in all directions. This assumption leads to smoothed terrain representations in case of height di...
متن کاملCO-REGISTRATION OF DSMs GENERATED BY UAV AND TERRESTRIAL LASER SCANNING SYSTEMS
An approach for the co-registration of Digital Surface Models (DSMs) derived from Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) and Terrestrial Laser Scanners (TLS) is proposed. Specifically, a wavelet-based feature descriptor for matching surface keypoints on the 2.5D DSMs is developed. DSMs are useful in wide-scope of various applications such as 3D building modelling and reconstruction, cultural heritage,...
متن کاملLandslide Monitoring Using Terrestrial Laser Scanner: Georeferencing and Canopy Filtering Issues in a Case Study
In order to define a methodology that faces the major critical issues, we used a Terrestrial Laser Scanner to monitor a large landslide that caused significant disruptions both to an important state road and to a major railway line in Italy. To survey the landslide we used three different models of Terrestrial Laser Scanners, including a "full wave form" one, potentially useful for filtering ve...
متن کاملLand Cover Dependent Derivation of Digital Surface Models from Airborne Laser Scanning Data
In contrast to the algorithms for determining digital terrain models (DTMs) from airborne laser scanning (ALS) data, those for the generation of digital surface models (DSMs) are rather straightforward. A common way to derive DSMs is the determination of the highest point within a defined raster cell (DSMmax) or the determination of the DSM heights based on moving least squares interpolation e....
متن کاملDental measurements and Bolton index reliability and accuracy obtained from 2D digital, 3D segmented CBCT, and 3d intraoral laser scanner
Background To compare the reliability and accuracy of direct and indirect dental measurements derived from two types of 3D virtual models: generated by intraoral laser scanning (ILS) and segmented cone beam computed tomography (CBCT), comparing these with a 2D digital model. Material and Methods One hundred patients were selected. All patients' records included initial plaster models, an intr...
